Bangkok Thailand Itinerary

Flowers, Street decorations with candles and images of the King were all visible along the road to celebrate one of the biggest days in the country as we arrived in the afternoon of the 6th of December, day after the Kings Birthday.

DELIGHTED in the CITY OF SMILES

All the way from Vietnam we traversed overland to reach our final destination in Bangkok Thailand.

That’s a total of 23 hrs bus seating time to complete our border crossing experience for our 2014 Indochina escapade.

A bus ride from Saigon to Siem Reap, then another bus ride sending us to Bangkok, a priceless moment for us to have completed it.

Bangkok has greeted us in delight for our last stop of trailing going straight to our hostel accommodation.

From our balcony, this allowed us to see a dramatic view of the Wat Pho Temple.

It was remarkably a perfect night welcoming us to the City of Smiles.

Thailand leads to be the most progressive amongst the 3 places we have visited in this  Indochina trail. It has long been an admired tourist destination for travelers and considered to be one of the most visited cities in the world.

It is a popular aviation center catering connecting flights to different countries and has continued to be a rising metropolis with its flourishing economy and prosperous tourism industry.

When people mention of Thailand, a lot of things crossed in our minds – beaches, parties, gays, bars, festivals, elephants, Khao San road, Phuket, floating markets, temples, shopping but there are so much more peculiarities that make this country a dream destination for a great holiday.

I have heard a lot that Bangkok can be compared to Manila in the Philippines but with clearer wider roads, much-organized transportation scheme in the presence of cabs & buses, metro & sky trains.

In addition, is the lovely garden that has adorned the metropolitan area and the noticeable presence of “Tuktuk” one popular public utility vehicle in the City.

We stayed in the Phranakorn, Bangkok for 4 days and 3 nights and resided near the Chao Praya Riverside which I chose attentively during my accommodation planning.

I thought it's one best location, accessible to popular historic sites.

I should conceitedly say that we haven’t visited any luxurious malls for our 4 days stay in Bangkok and was never part of the itinerary. We have felt at home in the area that best suits our laid back personalities.

If I had booked in the wrong location I could have wasted our time on added rides requiring us an additional budget for transportation.

One should always consider the accessibility to what was accordingly planned if not what’s interesting to ones view when staying in a vast area like Bangkok that offers anything and everything under the sun.
