Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and The Grand Palace Temples
We had been enjoying the interior
and exterior magnificence of visiting temples coming from Siem Reap and until
we arrived in Thailand we never change the plan of exploring it more.
When I was researching about Bangkok, the numerous
temples have astounded me. I was asking myself what should be included in my
shortlist amongst all presented over the web.
In my search for accommodation
I came across Trip Advisor comments and finally decided to stay in the Rattanakosin
area to where popular temples are located.
Luckily we made the right choice as all
temples were very accessible and we were able to visit three main
sights.
Bangkok temples are considered to
be a sacred place for all the Buddhist and these are well preserved. One can say these Wats
are the heart and soul of every locality. Each temple is made up of different
structures includes glasses, china porcelain glittering brightly especially when
the sun shines on it.

The nearest Wat in our hostel is Wat Pho. During our first night, we were welcomed by its splendor, a view of the temple from our room balcony giving us all a sweet evening for our 3nights stay in Bangkok .
This temple is also considered to
be one of the biggest and famous spots in the main city where the Reclining Buddha can be found.
I had so much fun taking pictures and capturing sights and images inside it as I observed people getting in and out.
I have also sighted Monks seated in a certain area in groups, and they were welcoming when groups of tourist started to take pictures on them.
Well, I got so lucky and that was the only time I saw Buddhist Monk in a local costume during my stay in

We are very much thankful to this local who shared and suggested some sights to us , who patiently
gave directions with our maps and also suggested that we visit a nearby
jewelery anniversary promotion and the 2nd temple which I will be sharing in
this posting.

When we got inside the temple we were welcomed instantly by locals including the caretaker and a tall sharp looking Man who communicate well in English and have instructed us to get in and take pictures.
The interiors were perfectly done in red and gold theme. And in the center area is the Golden Buddha with beautiful flowers arranged beside it.
This Small Exquisite Wat is currently undergoing renovation.

Meeting “Mr Na” who happens to be the architect of the ongoing restructuring. |
We are lucky enough and goodness continues to be bestowed for the ASIAN travelers!
"Architect Na" was very warm and smart and talked about how sacred the temple is for what you pray and wish for your dreams.
This good spirited man has shared small stories about his family and life in Thailand, gave us unsolicited advices for inspiration for our dreams and career. He took pictures
for us, that is why all images here includes all 3 of us girls.

This beautiful temple smaller than
the previous is just located across and you will have to ride the ferry
crossing Chao Praya River.
Since we are located nearby we went to the nearest port in Tha Thien Pier. It only cost us more or less Baht 10 for the ferry crossing.
(See my post on Chao Praya River)

It will be a perfect sighting if you get here when the sun is about to set so you could also witness the light effects installed in it.
They are free for everyone up until 8PM as I can recall.
GOODNIGHT BANGKOK and we will be back soon...
