SCENIC WORLD OF BLUE MOUNTAINS

Scenic World is a very popular destination in Australia and considered as one of the tourist favorites. It is a must visit site especially when you are already in Sydney.

The now so-called Scenic World of Blue Mountains is located in Katoomba which is the chief town of the City of Blue Mountains, popularly known as well as Katoomba Scenic world. City of Blue Mountains is another local area in NSW Australia and is approximately 2 hours away from the Central District.

This comprises four main attractions hosting adventure rides and boasts the pristine true beauty of Australia’s mountain sceneries which should not be missed. It’s widely called the Blue Mountains because of the actual colors of the mountain itself which is brought about the green bushes grown all over this vast area and mixed with the fog, thus producing that bluish color of the whole scene.

From here you would also find the famous “Three Sisters” rock mountain formation and Jamison Valley.

It is an ideal weekend getaway for family trips, although it can get crowded most of the time. It may be a bit expensive but the experience and the awesome rides make it a reasonable price to spend on a fun day of adventure.

We came here in 2 cars and I must say that not all rides may be advisable for the senior ones, my aunt who has a knee problem decided to just stay in the visiting/souvenir area. But I was impressed at my parent’s adventurous spirits and rode the steepest railway with no fear at all.

Beautiful and colorful buildings along the town center

FUN THINGS TO DO HERE

ULTIMATE DISCOVERY PASS allows one to use all of the attractions as much as you can, ride the railway as many times as you want whole day.

 SCENIC RAILWAY RIDE
It’s the world’s steepest passenger railway inclined at 52 degrees. It descends down the valley around 310 meters while passing a tunnel.

This is made up of glass carriages that will surely give you a panoramic view of the beautiful landscapes and rainforest. Another thrilling experience for this ride is that you can adjust your seats angle up to 20 degrees.
