Bohol Travel Guide

B O H O L

PHILIPPINES

Being able to travel again with my family is a welcoming outing starting the New Year 2017.

I am always grateful that a cousin of mine never forgets to gather us for a holiday invitation all for free.

We considered a nearby place and Bohol is on our Top list which is a neighboring island of Cebu.
Very much accessible via ferry and fast craft options with Cebu ports providing daily travel schedule.

This is my 2nd visit to the province after the 7.2 magnitude quake back in November 2013 which greatly affected the tourism industry of this well-loved area with some roads and popular historic sites damaged by the calamity.

It is always humbling to come back, witnessing how the province has fully recovered from that devastating incident and meeting genuine locals anywhere you go is something heartwarming as we have leisurely spent 3 days and 2 nights of vacation in this lovely island.

The in-flock of tourist is so much surprising as we have roamed around, with the majority of the international guests traveling in groups enjoying the authenticity of Bohol and as a Filipino local one should not be an alien to this popular destination.

Bohol Island is one perfect destination whether you are on a solo trip or with a group of friends and will be an ideal choice for your planned family trips considering accessibility, affordability, and most especially safety.

The month of January has been a rainy season which gave us restrictions in our daily itinerary but we have managed to fulfill other fun and interesting activities as follows:

  • Tarsier Sanctuary
  • Natural Habitat Sanctuary
  • Bohol Bee Farm
  • Linaw Beach
  • Man-Made Forest
  • Baclayon Church
  • Chocolate Hills
  • Sailors House
  • Dauis Church– Wishing Well
  • Virgin Island

Other Famous sites:
  • Loboc River Cruise
  • Hanging Bridge
  • Blood Compact Site

HOW TO GET TO BOHOL
Coming from Cebu to Tagbilaran Port:
  • Ferry Ride/Fast Craft via
  • 2go/Supercat

Public Transportation in the province is a challenge as Buses doesn't travel frequently and you will have to wait for hours. We stayed in Panglao Beach and hired a van all throughout our stay including Port transfers coming from our accommodation.
