BORACAY Insights

From my Island Hopping escapades of summer 2011, I have been eyeing to visit this one admired travel destination that everyone’s been talking and visiting. After such I now get fascinated too much with the beauty of the beach, my own dose of pleasure wherever island and whenever the opportunity comes that I can travel but this time I am too thrilled to be In BORACAY.

With CEBU PACIFIC AIR's promotional flight,  I have visited this island consecutively for 2 years June of 2012 and 2013. Well it's no longer summer but definitely this Island is meant to be forever SUMMER I should say. I can’t contain my excitement back then as I was looking forward to those days and seeing it from own eyes what this tourist spot would offer where both locals and international traveller's meet from all walks of life.

Boracay is mainly divided into two major beaches, the east and west coast where you got vast option for your accommodation from the laid back side of Bulabog Beach or to the opposite western side for White beach Island along the main road of Boracay.

White Beach is where Station 1 to 4 are situated providing various choices of luxurious hotels, resorts, lodging inns or you may opt to stay in wide ranges of hostels and backpacker houses. May it be along the shore or not, the strong vibes are always present and almost all people are just so accommodating. Many have said that this has been too commercialized nowadays but I must say the establishments arising are just living proof that the Island has that uniqueness and complexity to offer.

Catering to diverse people having distinct preferences then let the island itself offer anything under the sun that a beach bum would ever dream to live for from serenity, tranquility to inevitable nightlife and dynamic sound of music.

The island is considered to be an All Purpose getaway spot, with fine white sands, fire dances, long stretch of shoreline, a market of variety of goods to choose from. The Island itself offers all kinds of entertainment, with all food buffet choices and the chance of meeting and interacting to people whom you share the same passion of beach and waters. You wouldn’t be surprised seeing half of the population are international tourist strolling along the island pleased so much with its beauty and we local “Phillos” shouldn’t be left behind.

Although I have been hearing comments from unending fees collected by the tourism officers once you set foot on the island from environment fees, entrance fees add on to your ferry transportation fees,  I guess the collections are where they get the financial support to also aid the locals working for the tourism office.

I just thought all these are acceptable given that the government would at least prioritize a more presentable and comfortable terminal areas for visitors and a much organized procedure of receiving tourist especially the fees collection from Caticlan jetty port.

My only remark, which is the regularity of the provinces requirements for each commercial establishment that they would allow to start up. May each of them accept there social responsibility seriously in accordance to what the government mandates and in respect to the preservation of our mother nature.

So long as the environment officers implement consistently the standards and that each organization abide then surely tourist would keep coming in and Boracay will be conserved.
