Boracay 2012

It’s another adventurous extension of summer as me and my colleagues stepped foot on this lovely island in Caticlan. Though I should mention it’s my first experience to visit here but I feel so welcomed as we arrived in the Island Paradise.

This is another weekend escapade and we had an early flight at 6:00AM on a saturday. After which we checked in immediately at our accomodation at Boracay Breeze Hotel on the side of the Caticlan Church. I consider this a good place with easy access to food choices and you’ll just cross the road 40meters away from the White Beach shoreline.

Arriving on a Saturday morning we immediately hired a boat for our Island Hopping itinerary.

Many would approach you of various amenities (Snorkelling, Parasailing, ETC ) but in our short stint we chose Island Hopping to be able to explore nearby islands. Prices range so we haggled and got the package at an affordable rate all for 4 of us with life jackets and swimming goggles.

All in all we stopped at 3 Islands, with Crystal Cove Island Resort being the main destination of our tour. It’s a small Island that offers cove and cave tours, a stroll along to view distinctive rock formations, plus buffet and exclusivity of accommodation in the middle of the sea along with a breathtaking sight of the crystal waters of Boracay. Although they now offer day tour packages but we just hopped in there and paid the entrance fees for an all in day wandering experience.

We had stop over at this small Island that offers seafood and this is where we had our lunch, we were just thinking it was probably a package c/o our boatmen and the restaurants owner when they get to bring in guest. Well, we can let that pass, for experience sake our boat guides were nice enough c”,)

Snorkeling in the middle of the fish sanctuary was awesomely spectacular seeing sea creatures, variety of colorful fishes plus feeding them is an experience that brought so much joy for all of us.

I am happy to have witnessed these creatures underneath - kudos to Boracay for preserving and protecting this marine life. Our boatmen were also cautious enough of us swimming into the waters with strong current of waves, we needed to be careful as we don't know how to swim so we had to rely on our life jackets and hold on from time to time to our boat.

Late in the afternoon we strolled the long shoreline from Station 1 to 4 anticipating to witness the sunset in this beautiful island but gloomy skies have started to appear and so we just proceeded to D’Mall to buy some souvenir items before we laid ourselves to get home early.
