With the discovery of these ruins becoming a heritage sight, continued restorations have been implemented for its conservation.
During our day tour almost all temples have undergone reconstruction in order to preserve the concrete foundations of the antique ruins and continue opening its gates to the world wide public.
There are still more ruins within Angkor Wat Archaeological Park, but the ones located near the main city of Siem Reap are the major attractions.
Because of the vast choices of temples, you would be needing ample time to complete all temple hopping since it is kilometers away from each other.
Our group didn't really follow a strict itinerary, instead we hired a car and driver from our guest house and we let them decide to which temples we should partake. No need to stress on a whole day allotment of temple touring c",)

Roaming around in these gigantic structures gave us all the freedom with no worries on time or what to do next and just hop to the next sight whenever we want.
Seeing the remnants brought us back in the ancient times and you would be wondering how it was built ages ago. The massive construction makes you ask how many years it took them to build it, the architectural facade was impressive and very creative, and with all the astonishing stone works making this lovely kingdom so breathtaking.
We were like lost kids happily gazing around, my cousins were brave enough to climb up some steep
temples. I wasn’t. ( I won’t dare go up seeing stony carvings have fallen and
disassembled from a top makes me worried).
Although majority of the visitors have made it and went inside some narrow paths following the trail to get the best view from the top completing their temple tour journey.
Moreover it had been a meaningful experience to us and have allowed me to take as many photos, giving me the best landscapes to capture by far!

TRANSPORTATION without a Guide
Transportation is another important aspect for the temple tours. You may hire a car, tuktok or any suitable transportation depending if you’re traveling alone or groups. Some hired motorcycles and even use bicycles going there.
- $1 - Bicycle
- $8 or $10 - Motorcycle
- $15 - Tuktok (good for 4 )

We took advantage of Bou Savy Guesthouse Car service and a driver for the 4 of us and paid $30 for the car service, that includes pick up and transfers with unlimited chilled bottled water for the whole day.
Once you reached each temple, there are a
number of English speaking tour guides offering for
their services in all smiles and it all depends on your budget and plans.
- Driver - the person hired for transportation. He sends you to your desired location then picks you up on a certain area afterwards. He doesn’t offer any guiding experience, once inside the temple.
